Q'ira

     Q'ira is a blue plain-coat Dutch Shepherd. She was found running the streets of Amarillo, TX in the fall of 2019. She was 4-6 months old, and extremely fearful. Her rescuer spent a month trying to catch her, and realized a week after catching her that this was a job that was way above her paygrade. I'll always be grateful for April for trusting me with this girl, and for this insane journey.

     The 'registered' name "An Untameable Fire" came from Q growing to trust me, and seeing that fire begin to burn in her eyes. It took about 6 months for her to trust me enough to begin actually playing with me of her own accord, or soliciting attention, and since then, it's like I threw kerosene onto her fire. She's blazing her way through my life and the sports we've been learning together. She's debuting in Disc leagues and Dock Diving with the ferocity I've seen in her since she fell in love with life again.

 

     There are dogs that are meant to build people, to change them, to teach them another path in life. Q'ira has absolutely been that for me, and I feel lucky to be able to walk this path alongside such an incredible soul.
