Salem is the little dog that could. Brains, beauty and brawn roll into one 30lbs spitfire. She's got an intensity to her that feels like she's judging your soul. Salem had food, toy and praise drive for days. If she understands what I'm asking, she may judge me, but she'll always oblige and entertain me. Whether it's obedience-based, agility, conformation or FCATs, Salem hurls herself into the task and doesn't give up until she's finished to her standards. She's deeply in tune to me, and makes a fantastic service dog, just as she does a trick, sport, or show dog. Salem has a natural anxiety and blood sugar alert, and has learned migraine, glucose, cardiac and anxiety responses. She's flown across the country and worked alongside wheelchairs without ever blinking.

This bitch has a fantastic off-switch and shifts flawlessly between activities. In her second weekend at a UKC show, she triple Total Dog Qualified - the first ever for the breed. She is also the first to get Rally Obedience titles in either UKC or AKC. She often hunts with our unit on prairie dogs and rabbits scent and sight hunting, then comes home and sleeps with the cats, or goes to work and ignores other animals entirely. She was raised around farm fowl, cattle, and goats, and has never batted an eye. Salem is a bit sharper of a dog, but still indifferent and aloof in general around people.

Salem earned her AKC RN, RA, RE, FDC, CGC, CGCA, CGCU, VHMA, and BCAT in a little under a year, while also accomplishing her UKC Championship, URO1 and URO2, and SPOT-ON. She is 11 points from finishing her CM, the AKC FSS version of a championship. As of June 1, Salem has shown in 4 AKC FSS Conformation shows, and taken BIS twice.
